United Football League – Another Flop?

The first season for the UFL is about to begin. Many attempts at creating a popular semi-professional football league with similar rules as the NFL have been made, but they all failed. Indoor football is a different story, and the UFL isn’t associated with indoor football at all.
The UFL’s premier season will only feature four teams – the California Redwoods, Florida Tuskers, Las Vegas Locomotives and the NY Sentinels. With only 1-2 games weekly, its hard to tell if the UFL will see much popularity in its first season, but it has hope. The stadiums are big and the league’s Commissioner has over 20 years of NFL experience. The goal of the UFL is to provide football similar to that of the NFL, with cheaper ticket prices and future NFL prospects starting.
Many of the UFL’s players are either ex-NFL or too young/inexperienced to make it to the NFL. They aren’t pick-up football players owners found off the street. Football has so much popularity in the US that a semi-pro league doesn’t seem like a bad idea. Only time will tell.
