No Doubt Suing Activision
The band No Doubt is suing Activision because they don’t like the way the band is portrayed in the game “Band Hero”. Mainy because the lead singer, Gwen Stefani, can be used in the game to sing songs initially performed by males. Here is what No Doubt is officially claiming:
“transformed No Doubt band members into a virtual karaoke circus act.”
Not sure about that, seems like Gwen Stefani just doesn’t like the way she looks in the game. I don’t think any of the people playing this game would have even noticed or thought it to be funny. Just an old band who wants to make some headlines.
Here is Activision’s official statement:
“Activision has a written agreement to use No Doubt in Band Hero – an agreement signed by No Doubt after extensive negotiations with its representatives, who collectively have decades of experience in the entertainment industry. Activision believes it is within its legal rights with respect to the use and portrayal of the band members in the game and that this lawsuit is without merit.”
Seems like No Doubt doesn’t have a chance, but honestly how many more spin-offs can they make of these band/guitar/dj games?
