American Apparel Mess-Up

American Apparel let a photo slip by unedited, as you can completely see through the female model’s shirt. I guess the people over at American Apparel were either in an extreme rush that this photo slipped by unnoticed or they meant to do it hoping to get some publicity. Don’t forget that this is the second time American Apparel made the same mistake.
I think they do this on purpose as I am doubting a company like AA would let this kind of stuff slip by twice. Remember that these photos were publicly released in ads, and most of their print stuff is pretty much porn anyway.
I think you should read the European Fashion Magazines and watch European TV commercials.
American Apparel advertising is wonderful…..the company is so fashion forward and innovative in all aspects of the way the company is run, how they treat there employees and the stand they take to make the world a better place.
I love how we’re concerned that someone might be able to see this skinny model’s nipples. Shock! Fear! Morgan Stanley is right that people should look at Euro advertising, which I remember as being a good deal more mammophillc.
Nipplephobia is an irrational relic of puritan roots we would do well to move on from.
To me, it’s more disturbing that she looks underage yet is doing a wierd pose in her underwear that is presumably supposed to be sexy. A lot of their advertising is like that. Maybe they’re going for “unique?”
If AA is so progressive, why are they clinging to the wierd, misogyinst high-fashion penchant for rail-thin models? I mean, Twiggy was 1967!
In summary, barely-visible breasts don’t hurt anyone. Glamourizing eating disorders does. Get some more natural models already – some of us like ‘em a little thicker than a stick!
